The magic that books bring to the world is undeniable. Any book has the power to transform many aspects of one’s life, regardless of where you are in life, such as feelings, thoughts, and perspective, among many others. It can also be a way to help foster true, meaningful connections among people and be part of a community that invigorates your heart and mind. Seen Library is a great example of this.
Seen Library is a Los Angeles-based book community founded by Jordan Santos and centered around events that promote interaction, conversation, and connection among book enthusiasts. Seen Library pops out around Los Angeles and beyond—like in London and New York—to share the love for books, the joy of reading, and a sense of community with all readers.
Such events require a level of attention that encompasses all. This extends from book picking, synopsis writing, making each book look presentable and ready, choosing a location, as well as curating a space lovely and safe enough for anybody looking for a place to belong—there’s no detail too small in a project as passionate as this—and that includes packaging, which they partner with noissue for to create the perfect packaging for their events. Tell us a bit about your brand!
Seen Library is a community for readers—new and old, casual and serious—to connect in person and immerse in meaningful and inclusive storytelling. In the pages of our favorite books, we are invited to see and understand ourselves, and just as importantly, the perspectives of others. We believe that books hold a deeper purpose than just enjoyment—they are also a bridge for genuine connection, thoughtful conversation, and time well spent.
Seen Library is primarily based in Los Angeles, but hosts events in London and New York. We focus on in-person events hosting book exchanges, book drives, pop-ups, volunteering days, and more.
Tell us about the design for your packaging and how you’re using them?
I wanted a tote bag that was the perfect size to carry a book or two and any other essentials. I wanted it to be minimal so that it could be worn by anyone, with any style. I give out the tote bags to those who are a part of the Seen Library community, who share the same love of books.
What made noissue a good fit for your packaging?
noissue was a good fit for my brand because it's easy to use, especially for someone who doesn't have a background in design. The process was simple and the offerings were great for what I needed!
